Welcome to DailyLingo("we," "our," or "the Service"). By accessing or using DailyLingo, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Description of Service

DailyLingo is a free language-learning platform that presents real-world news articles adapted to various CEFR proficiency levels (A1–C2) in European languages. The Service provides AI-powered translations, vocabulary hover tools, and reading progress tracking.

2. Translation Accuracy Disclaimer

Translations and adaptations provided by DailyLingo are generated by artificial intelligence and automated translation services. While we strive for accuracy, we do not guarantee the correctness, completeness, or reliability of any translation. Translations may contain errors, inaccuracies, or unnatural phrasing.

DailyLingo should be used as a supplementary learning tool, not as a sole reference for language accuracy. We strongly recommend verifying critical translations with qualified human translators or official language resources.

3. CEFR Level Adaptations

Our CEFR-level adaptations are AI-generated approximations. They are designed to help learners practice at their level but may not perfectly correspond to official CEFR standards. The complexity of adapted text is a best-effort estimate and should not be used for official language certification purposes.

4. News Content

News articles displayed on DailyLingo are sourced from third-party providers (including The Guardian and other RSS feeds). We do not author, endorse, or verify the accuracy of the original news content. All rights to the original articles belong to their respective publishers.

Articles may be summarized, expanded, or adapted by AI for educational purposes. These adaptations represent our AI's interpretation and may not reflect the original article's exact meaning.

5. User Accounts

You may create an account to track your reading progress, vocabulary, and streaks. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. We reserve the right to suspend accounts that violate these terms.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to overload, disrupt, or interfere with the Service
• Scrape, harvest, or extract data from the Service in an automated manner
• Misrepresent your identity or affiliation

7. Intellectual Property

The DailyLingo name, logo, design, and original code are our intellectual property. User-generated data (reading sessions, vocabulary logs) remains yours. AI-generated translations are provided for personal educational use only.

8. Limitation of Liability

DailyLingo is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We shall not be liable for any damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to reliance on AI-generated translations or adaptations.

9. Privacy

We collect minimal personal data (email, reading activity) to provide the Service. We do not sell your data to third parties. Word lookups and reading sessions are stored to power your personal dashboard. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
