- Reading sessions โ articles read, duration, language, CEFR level
- Word lookups โ words you hover over while signed in
- Preferences โ your chosen language, CEFR level, reading mode
What We Don't Collect
- We do not track you across other websites
- We do not use advertising trackers
- We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties
How We Use Your Data
Your data is used solely to provide the Service: powering your dashboard, tracking your reading streak, and improving translation quality through caching. Anonymous, aggregated usage data may be used to improve the Service.
Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to operate DailyLingo:
- Neon (PostgreSQL) โ database hosting
- Vercel โ application hosting
- OpenAI / OpenRouter โ AI translation and adaptation
- MyMemory โ fallback translation service
- The Guardian API โ news content
Texts you hover over may be sent to AI providers for translation. These providers have their own privacy policies.
Data Retention
Your account data is retained as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us.
Cookies
We use essential cookies for authentication (session tokens). We do not use tracking or advertising cookies. Language preferences are stored in your browser's localStorage.
